Hazel Park Learning Center a Non-profit, Parent Aware Rated child care center on the Eastside of Saint Paul seeks an Executive Director. The Executive Director is directly accountable for overall operational management in accordance with well-established local, state, and federal guidelines, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, financial management, legal compliance, and long-range planning. The Executive Director is responsible for policy implementation and all its programs. The Executive Director represents the organization to the greater community to further partnerships, advocacy objectives, programing initiative and community partnership goals. This position reports to the Board of Directors. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: • Oversee all office functions including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tuition billing and payment, human resources, staff supervision and purchasing. • Identifies and implements age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of the children • Supervises Child Care staff to ensure the delivery of programs and services • Oversee the relationship with all vendors (Accounting/payroll) • Identify budget and operational needs for board review • Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, direct messaging (e.g. using the application BrightWheel), newsletters, and parent handbook • Schedule parent conferences that address each child’s school adjustment, classroom behavior, and developmental progress • Implement community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships. • Manage print and digital marketing efforts • Develop and implement student and staff recruitment strategies • Represent HPLC at local business and community organizations • Oversee key operational systems (i.e. QuickBooks, BrightWheel) • Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies; ensure legal and financial compliance. • Manage Licensing, certification, and accreditation – oversee annual licensing application for DHS as authorized agent • Manage Parent Aware Program • Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines. • Prepare annual budget and manage budget/expenditures • File regular reports with HPLC board and prepare presentation for monthly HPLC board meetings • Secure grant funding to address revenue needs not covered through other sources • Identify budget and operational needs and present recommendations to the HPLC Board for their review and approval

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree • Must meet DHS Child Care Director Licensing requirements • 2 years in a lead or supervisory administrative role for a non-profit or early childhood education program.
• Record of strong engagement, creativity, and collaboration • Ability to manage multiple initiatives/projects with a relentless focus on driving the optimal outcomes • Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing data and dashboards to drive accountability and manage a performance-based team. • Excellent people manager and motivator. • Solution and results oriented with ability to problem solve. • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on importance • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Able to work strategically and tactically: self-driven, highly motivated. • Experience working with QuickBooks and BrightWheel is preferred. • Financial, budgeting and data analysis experience • Must be able to pass a background check.
